How do I get to St Vincent & the Grenadines?

St Vincent and Canouan have modern airstrips with night landing equipment.  There are also airstrips on Bequia, Mustique and Union Island.  Same day connecting flights with international airlines, Air France, Air Canada, American Airlines, Air Jamaica, BWIA, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are available in Barbados, St Lucia, Martinique, Trinidad and Grenada.

There is a St Vincent & the Grenadines Information Desk in the Arrivals Section of the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados.  This desk is open daily to assist people travelling to St Vincent & the Grenadines.

Caribbean Star Airlines and LIAT provide scheduled services to other islands in the Caribbean.  American Eagle has a scheduled service between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Canouan island in the Grenadines.

What are the entry requirements for St Vincent & the Grenadines?

All visitors must have valid passport including nationals of the United Kingdom, the USA and Canada. A return or on-going ticket is required.  Immigration visas are required from nationals of the following countries: Dominican Republic, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Nigeria.

Are certain immunizations required to enter St Vincent & the Grenadines?

Yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are only required if coming from an infected area as designated by the health organisation.

St Vincent & the Grenadines is free from malaria and other major tropical diseases that are endemic to most tropical countries.

 

What is the procedure to obtain a work permit?

An application for a work permit must be made to the Prime Minister’s Office.

What is the procedure to get married in St Vincent & the Grenadines?

Non-Vincentians wishing to be married in St Vincent & the Grenadines must be resident here for at least one day before a marriage ceremony (civil or church) can take place.

A special licence ( a Governor General’s licence) can be obtained from the Ministry of Justice for a minimal fee. This licence is valid for three months only.

An ordinary licence can be obtained from the Registrar’s office for a small fee, but notice of the ceremony must be published in the Registry for a minimum of seven days.

How do I get to the Grenadines from St Vincent?

You can either travel by boat or plane.  There are airports on Union Island, Mustique Canouan and Bequia. Airlines such as SVG Air and Mustique Airways access the Grenadines islands from St Vincent.

There are ferry boats between the islands.
